The heritage listed building that houses The Giri Residence in Ibiza had experienced many lives before it was transformed into the intimate boutique hotel that stands in the heart of San Juan today. A collaboration between KsaR Living and Yvonne Hulst, the project was a dilapidated ruin when works began, with little evidence to indicate it was once the largest home in the area, the island’s first telephone exchange and even the village girls’ school.

The objective was to convert the property into a turismo interior, a luxury dwelling that would attract a cosmopolitan, well-travelled demographic to this charmingly rustic part of the famous white island. Surrounded by farmland, the home has been rebuilt with respect to its architectural heritage and in line with the relevant rules and regulations surrounding heritage buildings, while elevating it to reflect the demands of modern-day living.

The hotel feels homely and comfortable while exuding luxury, style and sophistication. Its impeccable interiors bear the stamp of a KsaR Living project through the use of tiling, poured cement finishes, reclaimed woods, eclectic and exotic décor, elegant illumination and high-quality linens. The beautifully tiled indoor heated pool and outdoor lap pool provide the ideal finishing touches.
